ABSTRACT
Objective To study the relationship between the CT value and injury of ultrastructure in posttraumatic acute diffuse brain swelling(PADBS). Methods The change of CT value of brain tissue was analyzed at posttrauma and preoperation in 9 patients, in combination with the ultrastructure in brain parenchyma in 36 specimen taken from operations. The relationship between the descend of CT value and ultrastructure injury was analysed.Results The CT value of brain in preoperation was lower than it in posttrauma first scanning(2.5～4.3 HU).The capillary distention and stenosis and the diffuse edema in pericapillary and intercellular were observed under transmission electron microscopy(TEM). The nucleolus of neuronal cells displaced to membrane or disappeard. Chromation agglutionation, nuclear membrane circuity, perinuclear diffuse lipid drops and blankspace were detected. The mitochondrion swelling, mitochondrial crest blurring or effacement, rough endoplasmic reticulum distension and its’ granules detachmen were also seen under TEM. Axolemma edema, microfilaments and microtubules derangement in axis-cylinder were found too. The similar phenomena existed in astrocyte.Conclusion The descent of CT value in PADBS was relevant to the aggravation of vasogenic cerebral edema, cytotoxic cerebral edema and ultrastructure injury in brain parenchyma.

The cytochemical method of Ca-ATPase activity was studied in this article. The native made reagent was utilized and worked in our department, The appearance of Ca-ATPase activity was researched for the cells of hepar, kidney, brain and oviduet, especially for the membrane system of myocardium cell.
ABSTRACT
Objective To observe the morphological changes of corneal nerve in experimental herpes simplex keratitis (HSK) in rabbit eyes. Methods Inoculation of the scarified cornea with herpes simplex virus-Ⅰ(HSV-Ⅰ)leads to herpetic infection of cornea. The HSK was detected by slit lamp and polymerase chain reaction(PCR), and the changes of corneal nerves in various periods with methylene blue vital staining and ultrastructure of corneal nerve were studied. Results Under light microscope, fewer corneal nerve bundles were observed, scattered with lower density of nerve fiber at center of cornea on the 4th day after the infection. At days 7 and 14, the seriously damaged nerve fiber was intermittent. The neuraxon became shorter with little polarity and the density of nerve fiber was extremely low. At day 30, the density was still low while the nerve fiber was approximately normal. Under electromicroscope, at day 4, the lamellar sheath of nerve fiber in the epitheliums appeared intermittent, and the neuroplasm of endings was partly lysed. During day 7 to day 14,neuroplasm was damaged and became vacuolar. The mitochondria swelled with vacuolar crest, and then were destroyed and lysed. The nerves in stroma were also injured. On day 30, neurilemma sheath was still intermittent with the decrease of microfilament and racuole. Conclusion HSK leads to the damage of nerve and the decrease of nerval density, and the damage of corneal nerve repairs very slowly.
ABSTRACT
The problem that hepatitis B virus may be spread by feces has been disputed so far. By immune electron microscopic observation on 13 fecal specimens (negative stain) from patients with hepatitis B virus, HBsAg was found in some of the specimens. The result is in accordence with that by laboratory examination. The detection of HBsAg in the patient's feces is of greet value not only in epidemiologic respect, but also in the diagnosis, preveution and treatment of hepatitis B virus.

Intact and gossypol-treated spermatozoa from healthy man were labeled withCon A-HRP-G two-step method.Comparative observations of these sperms were doneunder LM,TEM and SEM.Results show that there are gold particles on spermsurface membrane.Their distribution is more dens on plasma membrane of spermhead and middle piece.On the intracellular membrane structures of sperm which plasmamembrane was damaged by gossypol the gold particles also can be seen,especially onthe membranes of acrosome and mitochondria.It was proved that Con A receptorsare present not only on plasma membrane of sperm,but also on the membrane ofacrosome and mitochondrion.The significance of Con A receptors on sperm struc-tures,advantages of Con A-HRP-G two-step labeled method and comparativeobservations under LM,TEM and SEM were discussed.
